Formulation of Funeral Arrangement Policy in Tanjung Pinang City

Abstract

A city is a grouping of inhabitants in a certain number and area, which indicates that a city is a gathering place of people with similar needs. In a city, people live and carry out activities and economic activity centers to meet the needs of life. Cemetery facilities are an absolute necessity in serving the residents of the city of Tanjungpinang, because cemetery facilities are things that must be provided like other city facilities, such as office facilities, housing, shops, markets, health, vehicle terminals, garbage can facilities and so on, all of which require land so that in the implementation of the provision of city facilities there is competition for land use. This research is a qualitative research that collects and uses data from various literature sources that are relevant to the research topic.The Tanjungpinang City Government has also included this policy in the 2018-2023 Strategic Plan, with the goal of improving public facilities in urban areas. The strategy in achieving this goal is to organize funerals through facility improvement, development planning, and budgeting. The policy direction of this strategy is the implementation of fair and equitable funerals and improving funeral facilities and infrastructure.
