About the Journal
The Proceedings of the International Conference Social–Humanities in Maritime and Border Area (SHIMBA) is an open-access, peer-reviewed publication managed by the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Raja Ali Haji Maritime University (UMRAH), Indonesia.
This proceeding publishes selected papers presented at the SHIMBA International Conference, a biannual academic forum that explores issues in social sciences, humanities, and public policy, with a particular focus on maritime governance, border management, coastal community development, and regional cooperation across the Indo-Pacific and other maritime regions.
The publication aims to serve as a knowledge-sharing platform connecting researchers, policymakers, and practitioners engaged in maritime governance. Through empirical research and theoretical reflection, the proceedings contribute to advancing inclusive, sustainable, and evidence-based approaches to maritime and border governance.
All manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process and are published under an open-access policy, ensuring that the latest insights in maritime governance and border studies are freely accessible to the global research community.
